Scorn – Refuse; Start Fires (2010)
August 12, 2012As far as dubstep goes I’m still pretty inexperienced, but as my musical tastes somehow mutate drastically I find myself listening more and more to this genre. Scorn for me were the in-road into this electronic genre I would have maybe never touched otherwise, despite the fact a lot of types of dubstep (or gorestep) artists mimic the structure and heaviness of metal music. This double 12″ by Ohm Resistance however, does not strike any…

Start! Start! – The Only Way Is Merthyr (2012)
July 26, 2012This here post is a very special one for me, because this D.I.Y. lathe cut piece was commissioned by myself last year. It contains music I made with a bunch of people that is slightly out of my normal comfort zone, but it was (and still is, in fact) a ripping good laugh to be involved in. The Start! Start! band/project came about entirely by accident. It came about in 2009 when I decided to take my…

Gorgonized Dorks / Humanextermination Project – Split Tape (2011)
July 14, 2012“It’s really hard to tell which side is which!” These are my first thoughts upon playing this little brown rectangle of hell. Both sides feature noise maniac Katz Seki, and I’m not sure what is meant to be Gorgonized Dorks and what is meant to be his solo/side project Humanextermination Project. After inspecting the packaging it seems that drums are only credited to the G.Dorks side so what I am listening to now must be…

The Jimi Hendrix Experience – Voodoo Chile (1970)
June 26, 2012I always remember my father talking about this record. This was always one of those stories that would come up after a few whiskies. Long and short of the story was that my Dad had swapped this Jimi Hendrix record for something a long time ago, and that the record must have been worth a fortune now. He mentioned it once after my initiation into the awesome world of vinyl and I decided to look…

Lazarus Blackstar – Lazarus Blackstar 7″ (2006)
This is one of my favourite 7″s! Paul Catten fronted Lazarus Blackstar is a rare beastie, but a feckin’ good ‘un. In my opinion their existence can be summed up in this cracking little EP (not that the records aren’t any good), which really acts as an an album sampler for Funeral Voyeur more than anything. Side A eclipses side B, “Make Believe Master” is enormously heavy and ridiculously catchy for something of this slow…

Enemy Soil – Casualties of Progress (1995/2008)
June 24, 2012Sorry it’s been a while since I’ve done a post, I’ve been working on other things including behind the scenes work for this blog (writing a lot of posts in advance is a new tactic I’m going for). Today we have a post for Enemy Soil’s classic slice of drum machine grind; Casualties of Progress. The EP was put out on Relapse in April 1995 on a run of both black and grey marbled records. It has…

Gallows – In The Belly Of A Shark (2007)
June 23, 2012I had a passing interest in Gallows when they hit “the big”; they were a gritty band combining the groove of traditional/doom metal with the energy, anger and song structure of hardcore and punk. Unfortunately, I’ve spun the one record with this song on it a few times (I can’t remember what it is called) and I don’t get it. I love “In the Belly of a Shark” as a single though, which is a…

Mortiis – The Smell Of Rain (2001)
May 30, 2012Y’know what, I don’t know anyone who fucking likes Mortiis. Either he really isn’t appreciated at all, or I am just surrounded by people who do not understand his music. I’m pretty certain it is the latter. When I was in school a lot of the goth kids started liking Mortiis when The Grudge came out, and this pissed me off if anything, because I’d been chastised for listening to Mortiis for years, and now…

Embalming Theatre / XXX Maniak – Split 7″ (2006)
May 28, 2012What we have here is the 2006 split release between 7″ masters Embalming Theatre and the excellent yet short lived gore/porn/cybergrind maniacs XXX Maniak. This, along with the Birdflesh / Hatebeak split and the Bowel Stew / Tu Carne split, constituted my first vinyl purchases ever. Those were the days! This was put out by the excellent Haunted Hotel Records on a run of 1000 copies; 300 on grey and 700 on black. According to…

Embalming Theatre / Intumescence – Split 7″ (2005)
May 22, 2012What I like about getting another Embalming Theatre split is that you can see what weird and wonderful art Mr. Gemmet has come up with time. This under-rated Swiss genius seems to squeeze out any pretentiousness from his surrealism before bashing it headways in full colour into the morbid, the sick, and the downright unusual. This rather colourful 7″ sleeve features a very angry looking guy with wires in his mouth. These wires are subsequently,…

Dub War – Mental (1994)
May 18, 2012Before there was Skindred there was Dub War. I was always attracted to this band because of their awesome name. A war of dub? Sounds like my kind of party. Unfortunately I found Dub War a bit wet, not too shabby but very disappointing considering what I built them up to be in my head. My love for them sadly does not extend any further than this cheeky little single pressed by Earache (when they…

Dead Kennedys – Nazi Punks Fuck Off (1981)
This is a classic in my book. Never considered myself a Kennedys fan but I love this song. I remember hearing it on some lame Kerrang! compilation CD when I was in Sixth form. That I would later go on to discover Napalm Death had covered this made it even better. There is a few different versions of this pressed by both Subterranean Records and Alternative Tentacles, and I was initially confused with which one…

Godflesh – Godflesh (1988)
May 13, 2012It is often easy whilst analyzing Godflesh’s contribution and effect upon heavy music to focus wholly on the groundbreaking Streetcleaner record and to overlook this crooked, snarling little gem of industrial terror. More claustrophobic than Streetcleaner’s sprawling inhuman soundscape, Godflesh pummels the listener with a mechanized drum machine attack and plodding, menacing bass. What I have here is the original, untouched Swordfish Records pressing of this EP. Some think that the clear Swordfish pressing is…

Gut – Pimps Of Gore (2006)
To say that The Cumback split Gut’s fanbase in half would be an understatement; 2006’s rap metal crossover fuckfest alienated more goregrind fans than you’d care to even think existed! Who then, I hear you cry, keeps pressing Gut records? And who the fuck still buys them? Well, the answer is labels like Supreme Chaos and idiots like me, it would seem. Pete Steele (may he rust in piece) in an interview about Type O…

Swans – Feel Good Now (1987)
This is an extremely collectable Swans “bootleg” of live performances recording during the supporting tour for the seminal album Children of God, pressed on double 12″. It was actually recorded for the band by Jack Balchin, the band’s sound engineer at the time, using just a Sony Walkman, and was originally marketed as a bootleg to save any hassle with record labels. Feel Good Now doesn’t quite live up to the total aural destruction of…

Dead Infection / CSSO – Split 7″ (1998)
May 12, 2012This here post is about the fantastic Morbid Records classic split between goregrind legends Dead Infection and prolific noise/rock/goregrind/strange Japanese mentalists, CSSO. It was only ever pressed once in 1998 on black and is therefore obviously very much out of print. When I discovered the wonders of the Discogs website this was one of the very first things I bought, being big into goregrind as a teenager I dreamt one day of owning all the…

Dead / Butcher ABC – Split 7″ (2007)
May 10, 2012After Dead and Butcher ABC toured Japan together it wasn’t much of a surpise when a split came out a few years later. Japan’s excellent Obliteration Records co-released this (it would seem) with Autopsy Stench Records (who, being German, I assume have something to do with Dead). As far as my small mind is aware, all the copies are on black. What we get from the usually excellent goregrind legends Dead is actually a rather…

Criminal Element – Criminally Contaminated (2006)
This is Relapse’s 2006 pressing of Criminal Element’s short EP on single-sided 7″ wax. Besides the usual 100 Relapse clear copies, 400 exist on blue and 500 on green. It’s surprising how bands like this fall under the radar. You’d think that a “supergroup” style band with members from Dying Fetus, Suffocation and Misery Index would be big news, but this, along with all other Criminal Element releases, just seems to fall into obscurity not…

Cripple Bastards / Looking For An Answer – Split 6″ (2011)
April 8, 2012I’ve become very selective with my grind purchases these days (which is a real shame, but money is a factor), but this looked really interesting so I picked it up. I love the homage-style splits that come around every so often, and this one features two really awesome players in the grind scene so it would have been daft not to get it. I got it in June 2011 at some stall in Hellfest, three…

Covenance – Ravaging The Pristine (2005)
As far as I can tell from quick searches around the net, Covenance seemed to be a short lived project involving members of Dying Fetus and Misery Index. Whether this is true or not, I am not entirely sure. I got this 7″ back in the day when the dollar was weak as piss compared to the British pound, and I would get tons of records off Relapse imported at a fraction of the price…

Brutal Truth – Machine Parts +4 (1995)
January 2, 2012My copy of this record is the 2007 reissue by the fantastic Bones Brigade Records on clear vinyl. This noisy EP was originally released in 1998 on Deaf American Records (a label once run by ‘Truth’s own Rich Hoak) on a run of red records. There is also another Bones Brigade press of 300 on white. This is perplexing one for Brutal Truth. It is aeons away from their well assembled studio albums, having been…

Brutal Truth / Spazz – Split 7″ (1996)
This here version of this awesome little record is the 2010 repress by Deep Six Records. For those of you not in the know (like me when I bought this – Ha ha!) this split was originally released back in 1996 as a collaboration between fellow blogspotters Bovine Records and Rhetoric Records. I got this off the Bones Brigade stall in Hellfest 2010. Basically what we have here is more horrible spazzy 8 track foolishness from Brutal Truth! Exactly what the doctor ordered!…

Boris – Japanese Heavy Rocks V2 (2009)
October 22, 2011It never fails to amaze me how a band so steeped in history of abstract experimentation and drone can have so many rock ‘n’ roll influences. I guess comparing this record to say, the bands experimental collaborations with the likes of Merzbow or Keiji Haino can only solidify the fact that they are currently one of the most diverse acts out there at the moment. It’s time for Boris to do some rock ‘n’ roll….

Birdflesh / Hatebeak – Split 7″ (2007)
(2021 edit: I’ve included the original shitty pictures/scans for this post because it was one of the first I ever did for Lines In Wax, over ten years ago!) This here is one of the very first 7″s I ever bought! Birdflesh split with the hilarious Hatebeak on Relapse Records. I have the repress edition of 500 on transparent purple / green splatter. The original press consisted of 400 yellow and 100 clear (currently for…

Blood Duster – Menstrual Soup (1992/2004)
Your looking at the post for Blood Duster’s 2004 re-release of their 1992 demo tape, on a super cool picture disc. It was remastered from the original tape and released by Bizarre Leprous Productions. Musically, it’s a whole world away from Blood Duster’s bizarre mix of blasting grindcore and swanky rock’n’roll; a dirgy, muddy six tracks of horrible noisy goregrind. Where pitch-shifted vocals sneak into later Blood Duster every now and then, here they are the…

The Big Pink – Dominos (2009)
October 20, 2011Here’s a release that’s a bit unusual for my tastes; The Big Pink’s slightly well received single “Dominos”. Some of you may remember it from Xbox 360 adverts a few years back? Anyways, this 7″ was put out by 4AD in 2009. I can’t find any pressing information, but seeing as The Big Pink appealed to a lot of people I would assume that there was a lot made. After seeing these support Muse in…

Bowel Stew / Tu Carne – Split 7″ (2004)
Another one of my first ever 7″ purchases. This time, horrible, disgusting goregrind, of course! This is the Bowel Stew split 7″ with Tu Carne, released in 2004 on the no longer active American label Murder The World. The cover is a bit fucked up, if your not a gore-hound be prepared to be a bit shocked. Both bands offer up noisy passages of goregrind, Tu Carne are probably a bit more organised than the…

Black Sun / They Are Cowards – Split 7″ (2009)
This is the Black Sun split 7″ with They Are Cowards that was put out by At War With False Noise in 2009 on a super limited run of 300 black copies. Not much to say here, as this is really a collectors item. Black Sun’s input is an earlier version of “Code Black” which was to later to go on to appear as the opener to their album “Twilight of the Gods”. It’s a…

V/A – This Box Kills Fascists (Always) – 7 x 7″ (2009)
October 10, 2011So this is the biggest Lines In Wax blog post yet! The mighty grindcore compilation that is This Comp Kills Fascists in 7″ box set form: “This Box Kills Fascists (Always)”. It was originally released on CD by Relapse in 2008, and then on double 12″ LP as a co-release between Relapse and Deep Six Records. In early 2009, this monster version dropped on Relapse, imitating a series of split 7″s. As per usual with…

Anal Cunt / Meat Shits – Split 7″ (1991)
October 4, 2011This is “Another” split EP between early Anal Cunt and the slightly infamous Meat Shits. The version I have was put out in black wax on Seth Putnam’s own label, Wicked Sick Records, back in 1991. As with the 88 Song EP, Fudgeworthy Records have re-released this rare AxCx 7″ in 1996 on blue and clear pressings. Musically, it’s a typical old school noisecore Anal Cunt up against the horrible noisecore/goregrind crossover mess that is…

Anal Cunt – Stayin’ Alive (1994)
This is Anal Cunt’s 7″ single for “Stayin’ Alive” (yes, a Bee Gee’s cover song!) that was put out on Earache Records just before the release of “Top 40 Hits” in 1994. All copies are a transparent, almost marbled orange colour. Musically this is a pointless 7″, making it totally a collector’s item only. All tracks are on the Top 40 Hits album, except “Schnauf”, which is a parody cover of “Shout” by Tears For…

Anal Cunt – Defenders Of The Hate (2001)
This post is about Anal Cunt’s 2001 EP “Defenders Of The Hate”, which was released not too long before Seth fell into a coma. It was re-released on CD in 2007 by the same label (Menace To Sobriety records) bolstered by a bunch of other tracks from various compilations and splits. As far as I’m aware, all versions of this record are on black. Aesthetically, the record is pretty standard and boring. It has a…

Anal Cunt – 88 Song EP (1989)
September 26, 2011This is the first ever EP by legendary noise fools Anal Cunt. It was originally self-released in 1989 by the band, and then re-released in 1997 by Fudgeworthy Records. The Fudgeworthy version (the version I own) was a 1000 pieces on grey wax. The originally 1989 release was on black, although I am unsure how many were made. The 1st original pressing is extremely collectable. If anything, this was a mere sampler of what was…

Anal Cunt – 5643 Song EP (1989)
What a horrible, horrible record! This is Anal Cunt’s ridiculous 5643 Song EP, self-released by Seth and put out in Europe by TNT & Records and Stridecore Records. This is one of the European pressings, which is identifiable by it’s slightly odd and perplexing rude artwork. According to scarce info available, this release was pressed continuously in 10 different colours, causing insane overlapping effects on some extremely rare copies. One obscenely rare version of a…

Agoraphobic Nosebleed / The Endless Blockade – Split 7″ (2009)
September 22, 2011Here we have Agoraphobic Nosebleed’s 2009 split with The Endless Blockade, which was released on a 1000 copy press by Relapse Records. 500 were made on blue, and 500 were made on black. Strangely enough, there doesn’t seem to be the usual 100 clear pressed on this Relapse release (2021 edit: the 100 clear run does exist for this one, like every Relapse release). Agoraphobic Nosebleed’s material sounds like a carry-on in the vein of…

Agoraphobic Nosebleed – A Clockwork Sodom / Tentacles Of Destruction (2007)
September 19, 2011Very interesting EP from Agoraphobic Nosebleed, out on Garden Of Exile in a plethora of different colours. In the first pressing of 800 copies, 350 were made on black, 250 yellow, 150 white and 50 super rare yellow / white “fucked up” versions that were offered as a pre-order. These 50 are hand numbered and fetch up to £40 on Discogs. The entire release was repressed the same year (2007) on a 100 red copies….

Agoraphobic Nosebleed / Kill The Client – Split 7″ (2007)
This is a special post for me, as this was my first ever Agoraphobic Nosebleed vinyl, and also one of the first 7″s I ever bought (2021 edit: I also now have a significant portion of this artwork tattooed on my arm). I am talking, of course, of the fucking livid split ANb did with Kill The Client on Relapse back in 2007. This is part of the original pressing of 1000, split into 500…

Agoraphobic Nosebleed / Total Fucking Destruction – Split 7″ (2007)
This here is the brilliant split between Agoraphobic Nosebleed and Total Fucking Destruction; two of modern grind’s finest acts coming together on one short record. It was originally released in 2007 by Bones Brigade Records on a press of 1500 copies, 1300 on blue and 200 rare ones on green. It was repressed in 2009 on another 1000 red copies. Not sure how many people realize this, but the record is actually marbled. You can’t see it…

Agathocles / Jan AG & The Gajna – Split 7″ (2000)
My final Agathocles 7″ for the time being! Phew! This here is the cheap Agathocles split with Jan AG & The Gajna, which was not released on any label. Again, there is no pressing info online anywhere, and I am assuming that all copies are black. Considering both bands feature Jan as the frontman, the evidence points to self-release, but something about this tells me it might be a bootleg. Any clarification is welcome! Agathocles…

Agathocles – Gotcha (2004)
September 18, 2011This is Agathocles’ short EP called “Gotcha”, which is a collection of tracks that originally appeared on their split CD with Comrades (and Ravage on the Malaysia version, by yet another label) that was released by SOA Records. There isn’t label or pressing info included in the release, or easily available online. It is unclear whether the band re-released these songs on this 7″ themselves, or it was done as a bootleg. Judging by the…

Agathocles / Repulsione – Split 7″ (2008)
September 17, 2011This is Agathocles’ split with Italian fastcore band Repulsione, released in 2008 as a co-release between the excellent Grind Block Records and ¡ZAS! Autoproduzioni. Limited to 500 copies on black wax. Another great Agathocles release, I’m not entirely sure if these songs are originals or not but they are not of the “what appears on 95% of splits” stock. Sound is raw as per usual, but great tunes. Repulsione, who feature members of 2 Minuta Dreka (also the…

Atomçk / Paucities – Split 7″ (2011)
Atomçk split with Paucities on black wax, release in March 2011 by a whole team of small labels working together, which is really cool. 7 Degrees Records, Selfish Satan Recordings, Killing Art Records, Rauha Turva & Ill Neglect all worked together to put out this release. All copies are black. Atomçk is the strongest band here by a country mile; their modern “nerdy” grind outshines Paucities’ usual noisy mush. That’s not to say that Paucities…

Agathocles – Live And Noisy (1997)
“Live And Noisy” is an Agathocles double 7″ set organised by Bad People Records and Riotous Assembly in 1997. This is the black “repress” version, it is unclear whether the alternate grey version on 500 pieces came before or at the same time as this version. This is one of my favourite Agathocles vinyl, probably because there isn’t an awful noise band hogging the flip side to each record. Sure, the sound is really raw…

Agoraphobic Nosebleed / Crom – Split 7″ (2009)
September 15, 2011This here is the crazy split between grind monsters Agoraphobic Nosebleed and the slightly ridiculous Crom. The fantastically named cult record label Regurgitated Semen Records is wholly responsible for this abomination of a record. This is one of the 500 copies released on black in 2009, along with 500 on red. Strange fact: in 2010 RSR let loose another 100 copies on black which came with a bonus 5″ that turned out to be “fake”….

Ariel Sharon’s Head In An Industrial Press – Nothing Gets My Dick Harder Than The Screams Of A Dying American (2004)
September 12, 2011This shitstorm of a noise/grind record was released in 2004 by Noise Annihilation Records, a sublabel of the parent label Festering Deathfuck Decomposition. All copies are red. I do not know how many were made. This is worth having for the song titles and band name alone. On the back of the sleeve it says “ASHIAIP play lofi as fuck hizbulla blastgrind”, and I don’t think I could have put it better myself. If you’re not into…

Anal Penetration / Gronibard – Split 7″ (2009)
Another absolutely awesome release from Bones Brigade Records, pairing the craziness of France’s Gronibard and perverse, head-rattled drum machine tunes of Anal Penetration. Pressed in 2009 on a run of 500, with 300 on black and 200 on transparent green. Anal Penetration bring their usual watery, boxy porngrind to the mix, while on the other side of the disc Gronibard take the opportunity to crucify Anal Penetration at every given moment, with song titles such…

A Den Of Robbers / From The Ashes – Split 7″ (2008)
September 9, 2011Released in 2008 on 500 copies of black vinyl by I Hate Humanity Records, Netherlands. I imagine that I picked this up in some trade or something. In fact, I explicitly remember having a few of them knocking about. I think they are all gone, but I kept one for my personal stash of vinyl.

Agathocles / VRV – Split 7″ (2009)
Released in June 2009 on Bringer Of Gore Records in Belgium. Limited edition of 335 on black. Agathocles side is more re-recordings of classic tracks, but the recordings are great. VRV side is pointless noisecore, which is actually a bit grating on my patience (which is a shame as VRV is really cool). As with most split 7″s featuring Agathocles, this is most definitely a completist’s item only.

Agathocles / Morbid Organs Mutilation – Split 7″ (1991)
September 8, 2011Released in 1992 on Rodel Records in Germany, although a different original version was released in Japan a year earlier by Fight Men Records (RIP), making this 7″ a reissue. I do not know any exact pressing information, other than the entire run was pressed on black wax. Agathocles spew up a few live recordings, which are surprisingly really good. Morbid Organs Mutilation are pretty cool too. A lot of sources credit M.O.M’s tracks as…

Agathocles / Embalming Theatre – Split 7″ (2000)
September 5, 2011Agathocles split with Embalming Theatre, released in 2000 by the now seemingly defunct Paranoia Syndrome label. Pressing limited to 1000 copies on clear/red splatter. I have number 649. Another favourite of mine, with two masters of the 7″ split meeting on one piece of vinyl. Everything by Embalming Theatre is just great (don’t know why, it’s just something about them that makes them very listenable for me) and it’s an amazing that Agathocles seem to…

Agathocles / Kadaverficker – Split 7″ (2004)
One of Agathocles’ many split 7″s, this time on black wax with Kadaverficker. Released as a joint venture between Power It Up and NCU Records. This is far from Agathocles’ best, but nowhere near their worst, repetitive, churned over material. Kadaverficker aren’t too bad, either. Definitely a completist’s item (if your daft enough to try and collect every Agathocles 7″ in the world!).

Agathocles – Agarchy (1991)
One of Agathocles’ first ever 7″ EPs, released on Flabby Records (RIP) back in 1991. All pressings are on black vinyl, although the artwork varies from shades of white to shades of green and red. I believe that there are equal numbers of each colour out there (there is no evidence to suggest otherwise). This is probably my favourite Agathocles release; it really shows a different sound to the political based noise approach that we…

Slimewave #2 – Cripple Bastards / Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition – Split 7″ (2006)
September 1, 2011This is Slimewave issue #2, featuring Cripple Bastards and Sublime Cadaveric Decomposition. As always with Relapse’s Slimewave Series, it’s strictly limited to 1000 pieces. This is number 379 of 900 on white/blue splatter; the other 100 being the usual clear pressing that Relapse always does. Cripple Bastards’ side isn’t entirely different from a lot of their later stuff, but that in no way implies that it isn’t any good; it’s relentless blasting grind at it’s…

Slimewave #6 – Mumakil / Inhume – Split 7″ (2008)
August 16, 2011Slimewave Series #6 featuring Mumakil & Inhume. Part 6 of 6 in Relapse’s infamous gore grind compilation series. This is number 778 out of a 1000 pressed, and out of 300 on yellow. There are an extra 300 on green, 300 more on green/red splatter and 100 on clear, as per always with Relapse. I must have been living under a rock in the gore grind scene when Relapse started putting out the Slimewave 7″s,…

Slimewave #5 – XXX Maniak / Throatplunger – Split 7″ (2008)
Slimewave Series #5 featuring XXX Maniak & Throatplunger, limited to 1000 records on Relapse Records. 100 pressed on clear, 400 pressed on yellow/green and 500 pressed on red/yellow. I have number 420. This was the first Slimewave 7″ I got my hands on and it’s one of my favourite releases by both bands involved. XXX Maniak’s new cleaner sound was a teaser for what was to come on their split with Coffins, and Throatplunger are…

Slimewave #4 – Japanische Kampfhörspiele / Bathtub Shitter – Split 7″ (2007)
Slimewave #4 featuring Japanische Kampfhorspiele & Bathtub Shitter. Limited to 1000 copies on Relapse Records. 900 on white/orange haze and 100 on clear, as per Relapse tradition. This here copy is number 159 of 1000. Bathtub Shitter bring the chunky, Eastern gore grind to Relapse’s compilation. You just can’t help but love it. JxKx on the other hand, have a really meaty sound that belongs more in metal that it does in grind, but that…

V/A – Shred Yr Face 2 – Split 7″ (2009)
Shred Yr Face is a 3-way split 7″ featuring The Bronx, Fucked Up & Rolo Tomassi. It was released on a pressing of 1000 red by Wichita Recordings, Matador Records, Hassle Records & the somewhat elusive Coalition Records in 2009. It was sold on the tour featuring all three of the bands on the record. I picked this up in Spillers Records a while ago, I remember buying it because it was cheap and I’d…

V/A – Obscenity Cult Records – Extreme Audio Gangbang: 01 (2007)
Obscenity Cult Records presents Extreme Audio Gangbang 01 featuring Vaginal Necrosis, Bitchslicer, It Will End In Pure Horror & Wallygrinder. Limited to 500 copies on purple. The colour of the artwork varies from white, purple, orange to several other colours. I got this off Mike from Vaginal Necrosis when he had a few copies to sell off. It’s not bad; a strange mix of gore grind and cyber grind, if there ever was one! The…

7000 Dying Rats – Forced Boat (2002)
August 15, 20117000 Dying Rats “Forced Boat” EP on transparent pink 7″ vinyl, out on Scenester Credentials records in 2002. I bought this from www.relapse.com This 7″ record has quite the story behind it, as the extensive notes provided with it depict. Basically, the label were screwed over by a massive corporate pressing plant, and lost all their money to them. It took nearly 5 years to produce and press this record. It comes with an insert…

2 Minuta Dreka / Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium – Split 7″ (2009)
2 Minuta Dreka’s somewhat disappointing split with Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium, on black, again out on Grind Block Records. Number 468 of 500. I got this in Hellfest 2010, on the Bones Brigade stall. 2 Minuta Dreka’s offering is a harsh, distorted live set, including 2 cover songs, and it’s far from being their best recording. Definitely a completist’s item, and I would even maybe consider selling. Oh and what about Necrocannibalistic Vomitorium? Well, the less said…

2 Minuta Dreka / Carcass Grinder – Split 7″ (2007)
2 Minuta Dreka split with Carcass Grinder 7″ on black, released through 2 Minuta Dreka’s own label Grind Block Records. Pressing of 500, all one colour. This is the first ever 2 Minuta Dreka release I bought (I think, from www.rottenroll.de), and I was drawn in with their bludgeoning groovy gore grind with it’s clammy, rehearsal room feel. Carcass Grinder however have a much more punky sound.

V/A – Valley Of Death Records: 6 Lessons Of Hate – Split 7″ (2007)
6 Lessons Of Hate 7″ Compilation featuring Subduxtion, Urophagia, Deterioration, Nippercreep, Fecal Bacteria & Mixomatosis. Released on the now defunct Valley Of Death Records (which was run by myself, of all people). 250 were pressed on black, 250 on blue/green splatter. This particular record is number 111 out of 500. I learned all about the ups and downs of running an indy label whilst working on this 7″ record. It’s a lot harder than you…

V/A – Nuclear BBQ Records: Unlawful Grindcore Assembly – Split 7″ (2005)

Unknown amount pressing on transparent blue, released in 2005 by Nuclear BBQ Party Records. I got this free when I bought the Agathocles / Embalming Theatre split…

2 Minuta Dreka / Iron Butter – Split 7″ (2009)
August 14, 20112 Minuta Dreka / Iron Butter split 7″ on black, limited to 1000 copies. Presumably split 250 each way for the 4 labels involved in releasing it; Lammerda Records, Underground Pollution Records, No Tomorrow Productions & Grind Block Records. – 14/08/2011 (2020 Edit: it is worth noting, if you have stumbled here, that this was the first ever Lines In Wax post put online in 2011. Back then, it would have been accompanied by many…

27 – A Million Years (2007)
27’s two song single / e.p. seems a strange choice considering Relapse’s normal release catalog, especially their 7″ range. Relapse Records produced a run of 1000 copies, 100 on clear, 200 on orange/white, 300 on yellow/green, and 500 on blue/grey.

Bad Taste (1987)
October 4, 2010A slow start, but it eventually unfurls into the debauched genius that its reputation promises it will be. The acting is absolutely atrocious, but the final act as it were, well that makes up for it all entirely. The real question, though: is it better than Lord Of The Rings? I’m going to say yes! LOL

Daughters – Hell Songs (2006)
February 20, 2006What a treat for the ears! Honestly, this one has been on the to do list for LIW for years and years – it’s embarrassing. Daughters are now much more, a complete whole other beast, but this album will always hold a place in my heart haha! Coming on like a garage rock band breaking out into some DEP style meltdowns during a recording session, Hell Songs possesses a beautiful blend of violence, intricacy and…
