Pantera – Walk (1993)

Walk is one of, if not entirely, Pantera’s most well known song. The reason I’ve included this single is because when it was released on CD and vinyl in the 90s, it came with a series of “Biomechanical” and “Cervical” remixes and dubs. So what, I hear you cry, loads of bands did crappy dance remixes of their stuff in the 90s. But, in this case, the Biomechanical remixes were made by Justin Broadrick, and the Cervical dubs were made by J. G Thirwell.

Whilst not a fan of Pantera, I had to hear what two of music’s most prolific and respected industrial / experimental artists would do with their sound. For the most part, Pantera’s intense metallic aggression is stripped to the bone, but there are some interesting flourishes, if nothing else.
