Cattle Decapitation – Homovore (2000)

Ahhh how I long for the days of a more grind-orientated Cattle Decapitation! The band have always peddled their own ever-evolving brand of disgusting death metal, but the song lengths / titles here are much more in sync with something all together more goregrind. And, if you read this blog frequently, you should know that’s what I’m all about! Couple that with the factor that this album is basically The Locust with Travis Ryan on vocals, and Homovore becomes a thousand times more awesome. It doesn’t sound entirely dissimilar to early Berzerker, if you subtract the gabba drums.

This superbly-titled “Diarrhea Of The Mouth” coloured record is limited to 666 copies thanks to Three One G. I picked this up a few years ago at Hellfest 2011 and have lovingly cherished it ever since. You can also get this on “cow” vinyl, which is 1500 copies on a white/black mix, or on CD. The 666 diarrhea versions are represses, but I’m cool with that because it looks so funky.

2021 Edit: once again fuck Photobucket for stealing my pictures and watermarking them. Also, the splatter version of this is now worth £80. Gold mine!
