Brotha Lynch Hung – Season Of Da Siccness (The Resurrection) (1995)

This was a cool little random listen for me. I’ve heard the name Brother Lynch Hung thrown about here and there but it was when my Spotify randomly played me a track from this album that I took it upon myself to explore it further. Lyrically, we are pretty much in horrorcore territory here, with all the usual unpleasantness that comes with it (and then some), but the beats and vibes (and production) are spot on. Great stuff.

It’s the kind of shit that goes hard, which is just what you need from a genre of hip hop like this. If you’ve never heard this before, then imagine a darker take on the Doggystyle-era Snoop production, but all the songs are about eating dead babies.
