Chat Pile – Remove Your Skin Please (2019)

Sitting somewhere between Big Black, early Godflesh and Melvins, Chat Pile also manages to be an extremely unique voice in the world of slude / noise rock. Opening with the mesmerising “Dallas Beltway”, this 15 minute, 4 track EP is a lesson in abstract pain and misery. It’s disgusting, and makes feel a little bit dirty, but also rather cleansed in a weird kinda way. It’s very cathartic music, is what I am trying to say, but it is also very, very ugly.
