Impaled Nazarene – Taog Eht Fo Htao Eht (1991)

Choppy, messy, yet absolutely satisfying early demo from the wonderfully perverse Impaled Nazarene. Oath Of The Goat, which came the same year as their other demo, Shemhamforash, sees the band experimenting with music that is much closer to their hideous debut album than what we get on that other demo. The death metal is dialled back a bit, and we get the potent mix of grind/crust and black metal (almost like war metal) that Impaled Nazarene did so well in their early days. This is most likely a completionist’s item, but it’s well worth checking out, IMO.
