Electric Wizard / Reverend Bizarre – Split LP (2008)

Somewhat underwhelming entry from Electric Wizard, at least in regards to the great heights that this project can achieve. The Reverend Bizarre side however, is a masterpiece (or it is until it starts to drag on for far too long). Before we get to several minutes of pointless noise and effects over the top of the track, we have a fucking incredible cover of the Beherit classic, “The Gate Of Nanna”. I’m not sure how many war metal fans will enjoy this treacle-paced reworking of that song, but it’s super interesting all the same.
