Voivod – Ultraman (2022)

I’m not gonna lie to you, chief. I have zero fucking clue who or what Ultraman is. I can only assume, this being Voivod, that it is some sort of obscure sci-fi movie or TV show. I did not expect, in any universe or pocket dimension, to ever hear Snake singing in Japanese. Sometimes even a band like Voivod, where you should expect the unexpected, continues to out-pace my imagination. Fair play.

But yeah, these are covers of the various Ultraman themes, backed with some pretty good live recordings. All in all, a pretty fun release. I saw this for sale at the recent 40th anniversary tour, but I didn’t buy it. Maybe this will end up as a collector’s item, who knows?
