Busdriver – Temporary Forever (2002)

This shit slaps. It was slap even harder however, if Busdriver spent less time trying to sound clever and more time on constructing worthwhile, long-lasting songs. Instead we get a blurry, top-speed barrage of flows that are all loosely held together. Which is fine, because it’s impressive as fuck, but mans right here is basically the rap equivelent of Dream Theatre or some such music wankery. The production is great and the songs are great when they land, which is about 50% of the time. If Busdriver got his head out of his ass, then I’m sure this percentage would only rise.

Oh, and the recordings of him freestyling to unsuspecting food service workers at drive-thrus is so cringe that I almost turned off the record.
