Barathrum – Battlecry (1992)
After a bizarre musical intro sitting somewhere between an atmospheric black metal interlude and a soundtrack for a cheap horror movie, Barathrum launch into murky, slow death metal with bizarre, robotic yet haunted vocals. I understand Barathrum’s place in the scene and their trajectory music-wise, but calling this black metal at all is really a stretch. Interesting stuff, though.
