Lords Of Acid – Voodoo-U (1994)

Looking at the cover of this thing you’d expect some sort of Orange Goblin style stoner or biker metal (I am also perhaps used to seeing this sorts of devil women on the walls of tattoo shops which only strengthens that association). Of course, you will not get anything of the sort here. Lords Of Acid are a legendary techno / dance act from Belgium, and Voodoo-U is their second album. This thing rarely lets us for breath. It is a relentless barrage of danceable sleaze with a surprisingly awesome layer of vocals over the top. Sure, it sounds every year of its age, with a very 90s production job, but this record is a ton of fun.
