1349 – Liberation (2003)

The only truly “meh” release in the 1349 catalog. This is down to the production more than anything else. If this was an bedroom album by a one-man industrial / black metal artist then I would be very impressed, but it isn’t – it’s 1349, with some of the best players in the game. There is no need for something as fast and crazy as this to sound so brittle and lifeless.
A rare swing and a miss from the black metal powerhouse that is 1349. It is even stranger that this was their debut full length. Kinda started things off on the wrong foot, for sure.
