Possessed – 1991 Demo (1991)

Everyone knows Seven Churches, right? (Well, every death metal head, at least). But, Possessed’s continued output seems to fall off into obscurity, for the most part. I know they have had success with more recent albums, but big up to Ken’s Death Metal Crypt for sharing this 1991 demo, of which I knew absolutely nothing about. It’s only 7 minutes long and 2 tracks in length, and whilst its not oceans apart from the Seven Churches stuff, it does sound like a different band entirely, which is weird.

I don’t mean to be mean, but its easy to see why Possessed fell off and went down the shitter yet bands like Death hit heights of relative superstardom. This demo isn’t bad by any stretch, I just can’t imagine myself hunting for a rare copy of it any time soon.
