Agalloch ‎– Ashes Against The Grain (2006)

For as much as loved Pale Folklore, other records by Agolloch fail to wow me. I suffered through The Mantle, but was heavily and highly recommended Ashes Against The Grain, which just sounds like black metal for people who like Coldplay. I’m joking, of course, but this fails to press any of my buttons as it were, at least not to the degree that Pale Folklore does.

I think at this point I may have to accept that Agalloch are not for me, but this is not to argue anything against the fact that they are a quality band full of seriously talented musicians. I wish them all of the best, but I will be listening elsewhere. Cheers!
