Miles Davis – Agharta (1975)

On a rabbit hole tangent I was reading up about the hollow earth theory online when I came across this Miles Davis album named after the subterranean kingdom. Recorded live in Japan, Agharta is a slow, meandering record that is reminiscent of sound tracks of films from the 70s and of rock bands jamming more than anything altogether more jazzy.

This is Miles Davis’ group of course, so there is always that element, but this goes places that I did not expect it to go. I guess, in that alone, it has achieved something. A lovely listen.
